Two months old

This week Claire went in for her two months check-up. She also got her first immunization shots :( and cried very hard! It was slightly traumatizing. Here's how she's doing:

~She weighs 10 lbs. 6 oz.

~She is 23 inches tall (almost two feet!)

~Her head is 14 3/4 inches round (does anyone really care about that stat?)

~She has wonderful neck strength... so the doctor says

~True to her conservative roots, she looks to the right. However, this is making her head slightly flat on that side, so we're trying to round her out and have started forcing her head left.

~She can roll from her tummy to either side

~She has really strong legs and if balance wasn't an issue, I think she could stand on her own!

~She is almost sleeping through the night. I usually put her down around 9:30 and she sleeps till 3:30 or 4. The past few nights I've tried not feeding her when she's woken up then, and it worked! I'm starting to get excited!

~Her lips and nose are as cute as ever

~Her eyelashes are long and dark

~And we think she is precious! (But we're a little biased.)

Carolann visits!!!

Last week Claire finally got to meet her aunt Carolann! haha :) She was here Tues through Sat and we spent the time making Claire smile, taking her on walks (thanks to Danielle's stroller), drinking good coffee, talking about life, and shopping for clothes that can fit my post-pregnant-but-not-yet-normal body :) It was sooooo refreshing and I am so thankful to the Lord for good friends. Love you CA!!!

Starting happening two weeks ago. I tickled her belly and made a silly sound and she grinned at me. So I poked her nose and cheeks and made more silly sounds and she gave me a wide smile! Since then she's smiled more every day, especially when she's in a good mood after eating :) I've yet to capture a good picture, but I'm trying and will make sure I post one soon!

Listening to baby cry

...is really hard to do. Even when I know she's dry, fed, warm, and otherwise fine, it's still hard to listen to those little heart wrenching cries. I know, I know - she's a baby, and baby's just need to cry sometimes. But that doesn't make it any easier on a new mom :) Right now I'm listening to her wail like someone's cutting off her right arm. Most likely she just wants to be picked up and be done with nap time. Her cries are so annoying and yet cute at the same time. How is that possible?
