Early Saturday morning, as I was in the middle of my crazy pregnant-lady dreaming, I felt a little tap on my shoulder and pulling on the covers. Groggily, I rolled over and opened my eyes to see Claire's little face grinning at me and saying, "Hey Mommy!" I blinked and rubbed my eyes and exclaimed, "Baby girl, how'd you get here!" She kept grinning and chatting away and saying, "Eat breakfast?!" I looked at the clock - 6:52 am - and said, "No Claire, it's not breakfast time yet. Did you climb out of your crib?" She nodded. I said, "Baby girl, you're not allowed to get out of bed till Mommy gets you. It's too early!" So I scooped her up and took her back to her room, put her in her crib, and told her not to climb out again. She looked disappointed, but nodded and said "Yes mommy." I walked back across the house, climbed in bed, and had no sooner pulled the covers over my head then I heard a CRASH and immediate crying. I ran back to Claire's room and found her on the hardwood floor with a stream of blood coming out of her nose :( I picked her up and comforted her and wiped all the blood away. Then we had a long chat about why she's not supposed to climb out of her crib.
She hasn't done it again, but I'm sensing that the next episode is not far away. As active as she's always been, I'm surprised it hadn't happened earlier. I guess she finally got bored enough to figure it out! Oh Claire......... :)
Will told me he had a conversation with her at Chickfila about how to do it! But he also told her he was very tired and if she got a big girl bed to sleep better than he does:-)
ReplyDeleteI had one of those.... Isaac turned three 12-26-11( weirdest birthdate ever(: he gets over abay gates and was the first ro crawl in and out of his crib! Justin (9) was in a big boy bed at 12 mo and stayed till I got home. Brayden ( bb) 6, didn't want to leave the crib. Isaac is a wild one! If you have one of those I have only two short books to suggest. they changed my life! Anyways, you still don't know me. would like to be fb friends but have made it impossible to find me so let me know and I will " friend" you. Your choice from there. I All day today despite four kids .. Full time nursing baby girl was thinking about the atoms that racked us ( we had a tornado touch down right by our house on the 27 Th. I am sure I am a day off or may not be... , but was thinking of you today of what is " was like" thinking of the excitement and heaviness upon Matthew's arrival the next day!!:) such an amazing guy. Sorry been up w autie for 48 hrs... She is teething so spell check isn't working:/.... You all but YOU specifically have been on my mind and though I have a debilitating disease went forbad walk tonight and talked to Matthew! I hoped and prayed I was not out of line, but wanted to thank Our God ( heard Phillips Craig and Deans latest ??:) for Matthew and Matthews looking down and being proud of all three of you, but ESP His mother& His excitement about Clay as well!! I am a to honest gal to a fault most time because of many trials and struggles And vast pain. I just wanted to say I am praying for you as Clay's birth draws near, but what you must be going through now remembering packing those bags for the hospital among the storms with God's faith that it would all work out somehow! The end of that somehow is not what you ever dreamed of or wanted!! Ever!! I pray for you, Julia and Cole and Claire.:) I prat for Matthew as well in his excitement about the brother he will one day meet! Blessings on this day, Julia... Much love from a stranger...
