I'm home now and sitting in my own bed! It feels great for us to be back to home and Claire, but it's also really hard to come back without Matthew. I mean, who goes to the hospital to have a baby and comes home without him?! Well, me. I have really been struggling with my emotions today and being back here without my baby is breaking my heart. I have all of my family surrounding me and loving me, but all I can think about is that little boy laying in a bed by himself back at the hospital. I think if God weren't holding me together, I'd probably break apart right now.
Thank you all for how you've loved me and my family. I'm sure I don't even know all the ways you've been there for us, but thank you.

Julia and Cole,
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear the surgery went well! Was especially glad to hear the Lord was using Dr. Howell and Dr. Hatley to carry out His plan for Matthew! Hatley was Richard's main doctor and he is amazing and a Christian. He even prayed with us. We are continuing to pray and I know Matthew feels loved even though you aren't with him right now!
glad to hear the good news! i have been praying for you and your sweet family! hope to see you all again soon!
ReplyDeleteHi Julia,
ReplyDeleteKnow that all the Lippards up here in Winston-Salem are praying for you all....especially Matthew. It is a hard thing to come home and leave a baby in the hospital. Know that that is the most experienced and expensive babysitters you will ever have. When ours were in ICU the old song by Steven Curtis Chapman, His Eyes, helped me through many tough times. The chorus says:
His eyes are always upon you;
His eyes never close in sleep.
And no matter where you go,
You will always be in His eyes.
God does not close His eyes. Know that He is holding you and your family and Matthew in the palm of His hand!
Much love,
Jimmy & Katie Lippard and boys
Hey, Julia, I am so glad to read this latest news and that the first surgery went so well! I know that everyone has a story for you, but, I just wanted to share that years ago, my mom had my brother very prematurely and he was in an incubator for the first month of his life. My mom didn't get to touch him at all until he came home. This was excruciating for her and I just wanted you to know that I shared your story with her and she is praying for you and your baby boy. She is a mighty prayer warrior and has such a heart for you as a mother. My brother, Mike, is one big ole' 45 year old miracle and I honestly think he and my mom have a bond that exists purely from what they went through in those early weeks. Please let us know if there is anything we can do, anything at all.

What good news to hear that Matthew's surgery went well! Sorry for how you are feeling right now, but you need to take care of yourself as well, since you still have busy days ahead with Matthew's care, and you have a little girl at home who loves her mommy, too.
ReplyDeleteTough times, for sure, but God holds us with His right hand and walks us through them. May His presence be very real to all of you! Vickie and Ken Kline
