When I first told you all about Matthew's condition back in January, I quoted a few verses from my favorite song "O Love That Will Not Let Me Go" and I just want to leave you with those same words.
O Love that will not let me go,
I rest my weary soul in Thee;
I give Thee back the life I owe,
That in Thine ocean depths it's flow
May richer, fuller be.
O Joy that seekest me through pain,
I cannot close my heart to Thee;
I trace the rainbow through the rain,
And feel the Promise is not vain,
That morn shall tearless be.
Resting in the love of Christ and trusting in His promises ~Julia

ReplyDeleteJulia.....we will be thinking of you all and praying here as well.
ReplyDeleteJulia,
ReplyDeleteI so wish that I could be with you tomorrow as you say goodbye to your sweet little boy. I'll be praying that God gives you a peace that passes all understanding and that His arms will wrap you tight as you suffer this great loss. I love you and will be there with you in spirit.

• My heart is breaking for Cole Nickell and his family on this sad and humbling day.
ReplyDeleteI’m clinging on tightly to the Truth that God is Sovereign in this time of great loss. Proud of the courage and faith that Cole has demonstrated. Believing that in due time the Glory of the Lord will rise up out of these sorrows. Trusting God of His promise “Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes in the morning.” (Psalm 30:5)
We were not created to experience death and loss even though it is all too common and normal it goes against our creation. The bonds that we bind to each other and especially our children are God given and God Created. Death is a product of sin and so causes the loss and suffering of the breaking of those bonds. God in His sovereignty and majesty has somehow reworked death to not be so painful. He has taken a product of sin and turned into a product of His Glory. Amazing God! For His own Glory He has given us promise of eternal bonds that will never be broken never be taken from us, ever. Longing for the day I get to meet and worship with Cole Matthew Nickell, Noah Bacheller, and many other friends and family have been loss to us here but have been found in glory.

Julia, I know this was a hard day for you. As if every day isn't hard, but I know this one was especially difficult. This song came on the radio today and I started crying during the second verse, thinking of you. I love you and am praying for you and Cole during this difficult time:
ReplyDeleteYou cry your self to sleep, cause the hurt is real, and the pain cuts deep, all hope seems lost, with heart ache your closest friend, and everyone else long gone, you've had to face the music on your own, but there is a sweeter song that calls you home, saying
You're not alone, For I am here, let me wipe away your every tear, My love I've never left your side, I have seen you through the darkest nights, And I'm the one who's love you all your life, All your life
Faithful and true... Forever, For my love will carry you...
